Meet the Doctors
Dr. Alex Zylstra
Dr. Alex Zylstra was born and raised in Puyallup WA. Dr Zylstra began his path as a chiropractor after seeing the effects of a failed spinal surgery of his father and himself receiving the benefits of chiropractic after a serious auto accident. Dr Zylstra focuses on correction of the spine to not only treat symptoms, but allow the body to function at its highest level possibly. He also helps his patients reach their health goals by teaching them about the 5 essentials to health. Those 5 essentials are maximized mind, maximized nerve supply, maximized nutrition, maximized oxygen through exercise and minimizing toxins. When Dr. Zylstra is not helping patients reach their highest health potential he is spending time with his own family or his church family.
Dr. Tennille Bernard
Dr. Tennille Bernard grew up in Lacey, Washington and has a great love for the Pacific Northwest. When Dr. Tennille was 29 years old, she suddenly lost her Dad after he suffered from a major heart attack and was gone without any warning signs or symptoms. Losing her father was the catalyst for her to seek lifestyle changes which led her to becoming a chiropractic patient. She became passionate about the changes and improvements she was experiencing in her own health, and felt compelled to quit her career in Accounting, in order to become a Chiropractor so that she could help others restore their function and live their lives at their full potential. After receiving her Associate of Arts Degree from Pierce College, she moved to the Bay Area of California to attend Life Chiropractic College West where she earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic. Following Chiropractic school, she moved back to Washington to work with Dr. Alex Zylstra at Millennium Chiropractic. Dr. Tennille is committed to promoting the health and well-being of her patients, and uses a “whole person approach”. This approach to wellness means looking for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) and make appropriate correction of the spine as well as lifestyle adjustments to optimize the conditions for normal function. Using this approach, Dr. Tennille is able to help you to accelerate and/or maintain your journey to wellness. When Dr. Tennille is away from the practice, she seeks out new adventures and places to see. She enjoys traveling and road trips. She refers to these adventures as “playing” and looks for any excuse to take pictures along the way to document her adventures. She enjoys being outdoors – hiking, camping and going to the ocean. She especially loves spending time with her family and friends.
Our staff members work with our doctors every day to provide our patients with a professional and friendly experience.
Building friendships and relationships with those around me has always been important to me and since I’ve joined the Millennium Chiropractic team I’ve been so blessed to have this desire cultivated in my everyday life. Ever since I was little I’ve enjoyed growing closer to my siblings and those around me. Growing up in a large family there have always been kids around so I always love to hear what they have to say and get a little taste of how they view the world. I tend to be on the quiet side at first but I always enjoy talking to and meeting new people.
I am a mom of 2 amazing kids. I am married to my best friend and love everyday that I get to do life with him and our kids. My family and I have been going to Millennium Chiropractic office for years and we brought our kids in to get their first adjustments when they were only days old. I love what I do here at the office, though you might not see me much. I am in the back doing paperwork, billing and working with insurance companies. I love what we are doing here and how we are changing lives everyday!!
My name is Kay, and I am a mother of two young girls who keep me very busy. They are the love of my life. Most of my time consists of being home with them and playing Barbie’s. I have been a part of Millennium Chiropractic since the very beginning. I am the wife of Dr. Alex and work at the office part time. Belonging to a office that gets to see the transformation of patients from the beginning is one of the greatest rewards I get to witness. We also get to see our patients get off their medications, loose weight, and start to do activities that they haven’t been able to do in a long time. I love how our office gets to teach the 5 essentials to help patients make simple changes that not only affect their own life, but the lives of their friends and family as well.
I grew up Puyallup and met Dr. Alex as my high school sweetheart. I am a sucker for gardening and all things that have to do with flowers. My church is the other major thing in my life and my families life. We spend lots of time volunteering and attending church events that have included building the lifelong relationships of our church family.
